Day 1: On Our Own

What a busy morning for the twenty children in the yellow canaries classroom! After a quick goodbye or hug at the door, settled into their event-filled day without their parents today.  Starting the day with a hearty breakfast of apples, a zacattack bar and milk, the little bodies were fueled for a packed agenda including morning meeting, centers, music and movement, snack, readloud, and lunch.  Wednesday's guided discovery was crayons so students practiced how to use crayons one at a time and share with friends at their tables.  This week will be filled with learning about new choices, routines in school, and new discoveries.  Stay tuned for what Thursday brings!
